What is Mathletics?

Mathletics is a comprehensive online math tool, powering teaching and learning across the world. Mathletics offers two different subscription options:

  1. School Based Subscription

  • Mathletics offers many components that make it ideal to be utilized in the school setting. Mathletics is linked to 24 countries' curriculum, with offerings at various grade levels, as well as many courses among that grade level. For example, in Canada, at the Grade 8 level, you are able to navigate your way through different provincial curriculum and assign the correct curriculum to match your needs.

  • Mathletics also offers powerful diagnostic reporting to show student/”user” progress and track their academic strengths and weaknesses

    2. Home Based Subscription

  • The home based subscription is ideal for families who opt to home-school their children or for families who want their child to work on building their math skills at home. Compared to the cost of hiring a math tutor for your child, the relatively low cost of a year long subscription to Mathletics may be quite ideal for families.

  • The home based subscription features learning resources, allows parents to assign their child tasks, as well as features a weekly parent report that shows the child’s/“users” progress and improvement.

Example of How School Administration Can Utilize Mathletics

Example of Live Mathletics
Live Mathletics offers four different modes. Users can choose to enter the World Challenge, School Challenge, try their luck versus the computer, or challenge other classmates. Users are also able to select the level they wish to compete at. Each level corresponds to the grade it is associated with.

Why Mathletics?

Example of Customization
Users are able to create an avatar that appears on many different pieces of the Mathletics program.
By completing assigned tasks as well as competing in Live Mathletics, users earn stars. Users are able to then spend those stars to create their own unique avatar.

Users are also able to select their own background that is displayed in the "Learn" section of the program.

With over 4.1 million users, in over 190 different countries, it is clear that Mathletics is an easy investment decision. Although there are other online math programs on the market, none of them offer the Mathletics' advantage.

What is the Mathletics' Advantage?

  1. Targets Individual Learning Needs

    • With Mathletics, there is opportunity to directly target student learning needs, which directly impacts the students/users. Teachers are able to group students and assign them curricular content that fits their level or modify according to their Individualized Education Plans. This means the user is working on appropriate, at level work, while still working on the same program as their neighbour. With more and more students needing adaptations and individualized programming in numeracy, adding Mathletics to their math routine is a no brainer.

    • Users have the ability to access conceptual videos about the current topic they are learning, as well as interactives that focus on the more basic mathematical concepts.

  2. Data Collection

    • Mathletics offers teachers and parents the ability to quickly track user achievement and progress. There are two portions of the program designed for data collection; Results and Reports. Results lets the teacher view most recent results, individual student results and the opportunity to view the results by activity or curricular outcome. Reports allows the teacher to view achievement and improvement and effort and participation throughout the program.

    • Users are also able to track their own progress as they complete curricular outcome tasks. Users have a bar that displays their results in the form of a traffic light, so they can clearly identify their strengths and weaknesses (secondary interface).

    • Allows school administration to have hard data to utilize for assessment purposes and create school goals based on the results. Administration can also track user progress, as well as monitor teachers implementation of the program. The video below showcases how administration can monitor how Mathletics is utilized in their school.

  3. Student Engagement

    • Users love the competitiveness of Mathletics. Users are awarded points for each correct answer, with the top performers making it onto the global Hall of Fame. Throughout the year, Mathletics hosts various competitions, for individuals and schools, that allow the users to compete with each other online for the top spot. Some of these events include World Math Day and March Madness.

    • Competition also exists in the Live space. Students are matched in real time, with those of similar ability, to battle it out against each other in a safe, secure, online space.

    • The interface is colorful, modern and offers student friendly navigation, with visual and audio questions that really engage students in their learning.

    • Mathletics offers a customization background, where users can create and edit their own backgrounds. Mathletics also offers a "Make your own Avatar," feature that allows users can create their own avatar to represent themselves in the Mathletics Universe.
